The Great Exchange
Jesus told his followers in the Bible to “take up their cross” and follow Him. One of the lessons I’ve learned on my faith journey is this is a daily effort. It’s a decision to focus on Jesus. It’a decision to live my life in a way that honors Him - to love, to serve to put others before myself. I’ve also learned that if my arms are full of my worries, dreams, and to-do lists, I have no room for the cross. I have to lay it all down to successfully pick up the cross. I think of the scripture in Hebrews 12:1-2: “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin the so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out of us, fixing our eyes on Jesus”.
This is the “Great Exchange”. If you would like to learn more about this exchange, I encourage you to attend the upcoming RESCUED Women’s Retreat on March 12-14 in Everton, Missouri. The Outside of Ordinary team will be there to inspire, teach, encourage and well, make you laugh. (See the link on the main page to register)
Maybe it’s time for you to exchange the heaviness you’ve been carrying for the joy of fellowship. Let’s grow stronger in our faith together!
“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose its but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."
