T-Rex Truth

My first “gig” in Oklahoma City was to dress up as a T-Rex for a 3 year old’s birthday party. I know it’s kinda weird for a 60 year old woman, but hey - it’s Outside of Ordinary me! The costume they provided was BIG, and kinda SCARY so I immediately decided I would be a “shy” dinosaur and let the kids come to me. I wanted them to have fun, feel safe and have good memories. My intentions were pure and good and I wanted the best experience for the children…and that’s the TRUTH.

The children’s reactions varied, from “get away from me” to “I’m not sure” to “High Five me T-Rex”. The truth never wavered - I was kind and loving, but their perception made all the difference.

It didn’t matter how kind I was if they decided in their hearts that I was mean and scary. I pondered this and realized how this simple truth is manifested in our world today.

Romans 1:20 tells us that

“God’s eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made (creation). That’s why those people don’t have any excuse. They know about God, but they don’t honor him or even thank Him.”

The truth has been set before mankind. We have the Word of God, we have Jesus who declares He is the way, the truth and the life. We have creation as evidence of God’s power, majesty and beauty. Unfortunately many have a wrong perception because they refuse to encounter the gift that’s being given. Sinful people don’t want to give God honor and thanks. This makes God sad and angry. They choose their own “truth” which isn’t true at all. Unfortunately, If people don’t acknowledge Him as their Creator and choose to live defiantly against His will, they will ultimately face His wrath. There’s a loving Savior longing to love you and meet your needs. My prayer is that you welcome Him into your life - He’s waiting for you to come to Him

…and that my friends, is T-Rex Truth.
