Is There Still Hope?
“Those who keep speaking about the sun while walking under a cloudy sky are messengers of hope the true saints of our day.” Henri Nouwen – Catholic priest and author
I think all of us are shocked by what is going on in our world today. We have lost our normal but it is imperative that we do not lose our hope. It’s time like these when our faith needs to shine not diminish.
There’s a story in the bible about a man named Lazarus who was dying…his family sent word to Jesus to come quickly, because surely he could heal him. Jesus chose to wait two days to depart and by the time he arrived, Lazarus had been in the grave for 4 days. So much for that healing! But such was not the case. Jesus asked them to roll the stone away and called Lazarus from that grave. Lazarus walked out of the darkest bowels of death. You see there is no darkness, not even death that keep can keep God from his glory.
In times of constant chaotic news, I want to remind you of the truth:
Nothing can separate us from the love of God not trouble or hard times, danger or death.
God is the same yesterday today and forever. Our world is changing but he is constant – never wavering.
There may be weeping for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
The Lord will give us wisdom and direct our paths when we put our trust in Him.
God will protect us and keep us safe.
“We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls” – Hebrews 6:18-19
“Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.” – Romans 12:12
The greatest command is to love your neighbor, speak love, show love, be love.
I know it’s cloudy and I know the path is rugged and steep for many of you – but I encourage you today to keep talking about the son – you are called to be a light in the darkness – ignite your world with love joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness and gentleness!
Rise up and bring the outside of ordinary light to your world.
